Is there any way to truly chop an onion without ruining my mascara. Does the slice-on-your-head thing really work? Also - congrats on your wedding!
Hmm..Well I can’t say I have ever worn mascara in the kitchen and I’m baffled as to what the slice on your head thing is but I might be able to help.
The most important thing you can do is have a very very sharp knife. A sharp knife will easily slice through the cell membranes in one swipe, you want to avoid smashing them down them and releasing anymore more of those mascara smearing gasses. Second slice or dice with as few strokes as possible read: MORE CUTTING=MORE TEARS
I hope this helps and I know if I ever test this theory I may garner some strange looks from my fellow cooks! ha! On second thought, I’ll take your word that it works.
